February 11 & 12, 2022 | Online

Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to open registration and present the program for this year’s annual meeting of historians of the German Association for American Studies on the topic of “Labor and Capital in U.S. History” (February 11 and 12).

Due to the current pandemic situation, a face-to-face conference will unfortunately not be possible.

We have worked out a hybrid concept that hopefully—under the 2 G plus rule—allows a small group of organizers and presenters to meet locally in Mainz, enables everyone to participate digitally in the meeting, and minimizes the health risk for everyone involved. All parts of the conference will be broadcast via Zoom. Upon registration, you will receive the Zoom link that provides access to the entire conference.

Further, Gather links will be announced for the poster presentation section of our conference. Gather is a software that allows participants to meet informally in virtual spaces and view the poster presentations of PhD students as well as virtual promotions of organizations and publications from within the field of American history.

You can register for the conference for free via Eventbrite, an online event registration service. The link below will take you to the conference registration website. Enter your information and receive an automatic return e-mail confirming your registration. Click on “view the event” in the registration confirmation to see more information about the conference, including the Zoom link you need to access the conference.
