The English Department of the Europa-Universität Flensburg, Germany, seeks to fill the following position by September 1, 2019:

Lector / English Language Instructor (m/w/d)(Salary group TV-L 13, 75 %)

This position is initially limited to a period of four years.
Job description: The new lector will teach practical language skills to students at both basic and advanced levels of their studies. Courses will cover such areas as Grammar, Written and Oral English, Pronunciation, German-English Translation, and Cultural Studies.

Applicants must be native speakers of English and graduates in a discipline relevant to the duties of a lector (at least MA or postgraduate degree). Candidates are expected to have adequate German skills as well as qualifications in TEFL/TESOL or Applied Linguistics. The ability to teach classes in British Studies would be welcome. Academic teaching experience will be a definite advantage, as will a strong research background.
The teaching load of this 75% position will be 6 practical English classes (at 90 minutes) per week during teaching terms, with additional duties (development of teaching, exercise and test materials, semester preparation, devising as well as conducting and correcting exams each semester, as well as
assistance with the department’s administrative tasks) both during terms and the semester recess.
