The Heidelberg Center for Ibero-American Studies (HCIAS) at Heidelberg University, Germany, is accepting applications for a junior professorship position to be appointed with a tentative starting date of March 1, 2023.
This junior professorship is a temporary qualification position limited to six years. It is based at the Heidelberg Center for Ibero-American Studies (HCIAS) and will be filled in close cooperation with the Heidelberg Center for American Studies (HCA). The future position holder will be a member of the Faculty of Chemistry and Geosciences and collaborate with its Institute of Geography.
Candidates for this position are required to possess a doctorate in Geography, Latin American Studies, Inter-American Studies, American Studies, or a closely related field. We are primarily seeking scholars with a specialization in South-North migration within a political, economic, societal, or cultural framework, including Latin American diasporic experiences in the United States. Candidates are expected to bring along a particular preparedness to cooperate with colleagues from different fields and initiate individual and cooperative teaching and research projects.
